How to use our metal plate?

Some time ago, we set out to create the world's thinnest phone mount!

As an alternative to our pouches, the adhesive metal plate is the world's thinnest universal adapter, with a thickness of just 1.5 mm. Before launching it, we tested it for several months. The whole team was thrilled, so we decided to bring it to market!

There are still a few things to know for optimal use of the adhesive metal plate.

Key points for using the adhesive metal plate

Bonding the plate

When bonding the adhesive to your smartphone case, it is very important to thoroughly clean the phone case and to let the bond set properly. We recommend letting it rest overnight to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

The different case surfaces

Depending on the phone case, the adhesive will bond more or less well (on textured cases), or not at all (on textile covers). This varies greatly and there is no adhesive that bonds as strongly as our magnets regardless of the surface. If the adhesive ever comes off, the best solution is to thoroughly clean the surface of your plate and your phone case again, then bond the plate with super glue or epoxy adhesive.

Securing the magnetic dock to your handlebar

Make sure the magnet is firmly secured to your bike / motorcycle / mirror. If you use rubber bands, the dock will tend to come away more easily with your phone when you remove it, putting unnecessary strain on the bond. Instead, use the strap to keep the dock firmly attached to your handlebar.

How to remove the phone from the magnet

You need to be very careful about how you remove the phone from the magnet. It is very important to use a lever motion (like opening a bottle cap) and to never pull along the axis of the magnet, i.e. Vertically. We recommend holding the metal plate by placing a finger on each side of the plate when grabbing your phone.

PLEASE NOTE

The plate does not absorb vibrations

It is important to note that, unlike the pouches included in our packs, the adhesive metal plate does not protect against vibrations.

Indeed, the phone ends up being anchored to the bike stem or motorcycle handlebar, which creates a risk for the optical stabilizer.
When you use our pouches, your smartphone is not anchored — it is the pouch and the magnet that absorb the vibrations. We've explained everything here to help you avoid damage!

There you go — by following these tips, you'll be able to use the metal plate without any issues:)
