Shapeheart
Our story
Shapeheart is the story of two entrepreneurs who could no longer stand doing sport with poorly designed, uncomfortable armbands. Thanks to a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, they were able to fund their project of an armband with a detachable magnetic Sleeve and an integrated heart rate sensor, and directly test their idea with consumers.
Who are we?
We are Antoine and Michael, and sport has always been a part of our daily lives. We love sport because it brings us joy and balance. Like many people, we work out to music, alone or with friends, we track our runs on Strava, and let our GPS guide us while cycling or riding a scooter.
That's why we created Shapeheart!
In the beginning...
This whole story of the detachable magnetic Sleeve actually came about completely by chance. We were working on our heart rate armband to offer a more reliable heart rate tracker than watches and more comfortable than chest straps.
We had decided to integrate an optical sensor into the armband, but we were faced with the following challenge: having the sensor against the skin and the phone on the outside of the jacket…
That's how the detachable magnetic Sleeve system was born, and we very quickly realized that this was what could revolutionize phone accessories.
Design quality products
Designing and developing a good product was a real challenge. We quickly understood why the concept didn't exist before.
14 iterations were needed to get the ideal armband in our hands: a magnet system powerful enough to keep your phone firmly in place while allowing smooth access, without adding weight to the armband, compatible with virtually all phones and easy to manufacture.
It was exactly the same when designing the bike and motorcycle mount.
Our achievements
Shapeheart started out as a small French start-up, launched by passionate enthusiasts. A start-up that won the FNAC 2016 jury prize, and gained recognition by successfully running its Kickstarter campaign (nearly 1,000 products sold).
Today, it has more than 5,000 points of sale in over 20 countries, a range of around fifteen products, and now several hundred thousand daily users.
Our vision for the future
Shapeheart's ambition is to become the reference urban-outdoor accessory brand in Europe. We have continuously expanded our range since we started our story in June 2017 with the magnetic armband.
- 2018: Magnetic sports belt
- 2019: Magnetic phone mount for bicycle
- 2020: Magnetic phone mount for motorcycle and mirror
- 2021: Magnetic phone mount for sports motorcycle, for mirror (screwed) and for scooter dashboard
- 2022: PRO phone mount for bicycle and motorcycle handlebars, bicycle stem mount, spherical adapter mount, and a motorcycle mirror cap mount. And, at the request of many of you, we launched an extension arm to offset your smartphone as you wish, along with a whole range of accessories!
- 2023: Car mount, bicycle computer mount, magnetic front and rear lights for bicycle, anti-vibration for motorcycle, phone lanyard.
